Are you giving shoppers a reason to go inside the store if they can pay at the pump?
According to the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), 95% of gas-selling convenience stores offer pay-at-the pump services.
While this is convenient for motorists, it's not great for driving sales in the c-store, observes IRI.
As a result, operators must work harder to lure shoppers in with more engaging outdoor advertising, which is claims is "very under leveraged".
"Even during peak months [spring, summer], outdoor advertising represents less than 5% of convenience store all commodity value (ACV)."
