PepsiCo has joined forces with Feed The Children, Walmart and Central Union Mission to distribute food, drink and personal care products to 800 impoverished families in Washington DC.

More than 80 volunteers from the organizations will distribute the food and essentials today. The boxes are designed to help support a family of four for up to one week and families have been pre-identified by the Central Union Mission.

PepsiCo is sponsoring the distribution and donating Quaker oatmeal and granola bars, Frito-Lay multipack sacks of potato chips and plantain chips and Tropicana orange juice.

David Treadwell, executive director of Central Union Mission, said nonprofit and corporate partnerships like this are invaluable to human service providers.

“This partnership with Feed the Children, PepsiCo and Walmart will make a big impact on our ability to serve those in need,” Treadwell said.
