Coca-Cola's Japanese subsidiary announced it was recalling six types of drink, including bottles of its flagship Coca-Cola and Fanta brands, as well as popular local brand Qoo and Aquarius water.
The firm apologised to consumers, but assured there was no health risk involved.
It was thought the iron powder had leaked into drinks because of defective equipment at one of Coca-Cola's factories.
