Bayn Europe and Barentz Group sign stevia agreement
Bayn Europe and the Barentz Group have signed a long-term cooperation agreement for the supply and distribution of Eureba-brand stevia extract blends.

The two companies have been working together for the past 20 months, and the new agreement gives ingredient supplier Bayn access to the Barentz Group’s distribution channel throughout Europe, Bayn said in a statement.

“Barentz is a very good partner for Bayn because of its food ingredients expertise combined with its wide network of customers within the food industry in Europe,” said Bayn chairman Lennart Holmström.

“We expect a significant growth of sales in 2013. With this collaboration we can both focus on our main areas of expertise: Barentz on the route to market and Bayn on technical support and product development.”

The companies said they also intended to work together on R&D for stevia applications.

Vice president of Barentz FoodSolutions Geert Ingelbert agreed that demand for the sweetener was growing.

“Eureba is a quality product and Bayn’s scientific team also offers us additional applications support and is highly innovative in its own research for new stevia applications,” he said.
