It’s free, jammed full of sports nutrition sector insights – and it’s just days away: Sports Nutrition 2014 .

From demographic differentials to formulation potentials to the markets that matter and the regulations that govern them, Sports Nutrition 2014 will drive your business and brands to greater success. Find more about the programme and free sign-up here.

Presented by NutraIngredients and BeverageDaily, we’ve assembled major players from across an international sector worth more than €20bn by conservative estimates to share experience about products for sports people from amateurs to pros – and those that buy them for lifestyle and other reasons.

The 10-presentation event kicks off at 14:30 central European time with an investigation of the sports beverage market’s two-tiered evolution from its humble Gatorade-inspired beginnings back in 1965. Can and should the same offering appeal to both the elite and Joe Public? The CEO of VPX/Redline, John Owoc, will join BeverageDaily editor Ben Bouckley to discuss that divide and more.

Nutrients, trends, markets, formulations...

The place of nutrients like protein, polyphenols and other botanicals in sports nutrition will be discussed – from their source to their formulation potential in a variety of platforms.

NutraIngredients science editor Nathan Gray will talk carbohydrates in sports nutrition with John Brewer, the director of sport at the University of Bedfordshire. Carbs and sugars have come under a lot of attack in the mainstream food supply, but could that challenge their place in the sports arena?

The microscope will turn to the US market when senior US correspondent Hank Schultz discusses the spread and evolution of the world’s biggest sports nutrition market with analysts Jim Tonkin, Tom Vierhile and Steve Hansen.

To close the event, senior editor Shane Starling will host a round-table exploring the personalisation trend in sports nutrition and the use of science in sports, athletics-based and other populations. He’ll be joined by Arsenal Football Club nutritionist James Collins and MuscleGenes co-founder Mark Gilbert along with vegetable protein supplier Roquette.

See you on September 10 sports lovers. More info is here.
