Inbev recalls Stella Artois cider due to bursting risk
InBev UK has recalled three batch codes of Stella Artois cider due to a risk of fermentation that may cause bottles to burst unexpectedlty, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), which has issued a product recall notice.

Affected products include Stella Artois Cidre 568ml bottles (sold both singly and in 12 bottle cases, the latter is pictured) with a best before date of April or May 2012. The relevant batch codes are 1182381, 1214381 and 1217381.

The FSA said that point-of-sale notices would be issued via retailers explaining the recall and advising consumers on action to take. Beyond carefully checking batch codes, Inbev is urging consumers with an affected batch not to consume or handle the product.

The company requests that those affected contact it on 0800 0731 736.

In a website statement Inbev UK said: "This recall only applies to product identified above. No other products are affected by this recall. We thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

InBev UK is part of Belgian-based Anheuser Busch InBev, which recorded sales of $39.2bn in 2008 and employs around 120,000 staff in over 30 countries worldwide.
