Birko ISO 9001 certified after 'rigorous process'

Birko has achieved ISO 9001 certification for the quality management system in its Henderson, Colorado facility.

The certification, through Denver-based firm Platinum Registration, includes the design, development, manufacture and delivery of general and food-grade cleaning chemicals, and antimicrobial intervention products and distribution of other products.

Mark Swanson, CEO, said: “It’s a rigorous process to become ISO 9001 certified. Our staff worked very hard with Platinum Registration’s auditors to demonstrate that we met the requirements of the standard.

“Achieving ISO 9001 certification underscores Birko’s commitment to our customers, ensuring they receive the benefit of best-practice food safety solutions in the meat, produce and brewery industries.”

ISO 9001 is a standard for quality management systems and practices which has been implemented by more than one million companies and organizations in 170 countries.

Birko manufactures concentrated chemical formulations used in plant cleaning and sanitation and antimicrobial interventions used to reduce pathogens from the food manufacturing process.
