The inventors of a novel rubber ‘Wine Condom’ that reseals wine bottles from the outside hope to strike it lucky with a fundraising drive.

Mother and son team Laura and Mitch Strahan are seeking Kickstarter funding for the product (pictured) that they say sits flush with the rim of the bottle, making it an easier fit for fridge doors and shelves than closures that seal from the inside.

They plan to raise $7,500 to meet minimum orders and produce packaging, and say the product – designed to be thrown away after one to two uses – can also be used on beer or soda bottles.
