The United Steelworkers union (USW) and Unite have accused can manufacturer Crown Holdings of aggression towards workers in the UK, the US, and Canada.

The two trade unions operating on a global level as Workers Uniting have written to the head of Crown, accusing the company of mistreating its employees.

Workers Uniting alleged in the letter to CEO John Conway that the packaging company has adopted a confrontational approach in its bargaining in Canada, where the company has closed several plants. The transatlantic union said that a similar attitude in the UK has resulted in numerous industrial disputes over that past 12 months.

Crown refused to comment on the allegations.
