In this exclusive video shot at Pack Expo in Chicago we canter through PMMI’s 2014 Beverage Packaging Market Assessment – exploring slow growth for pouches, concerns about glass supply quality and the importance of strong relations with retailers.

Jorge Izquierdo, VP market development at The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) co-authored the publication, and spoke to BeverageDaily.com at the show.

“The current challenges we have identified for the beverage industry, in terms of processing and packaging technology includes innovation, cost containment, simple operation and assistance with workforce training to operate the equipment,” he says.

“Finally, and probably one of the most important challenges is working with retailers to understand consumer preferences,” Izquierdo adds.
