Kyle Nielsen from KHS USA tells Ben Bouckley why his firm is keen to attract the increasingly important craft brewing segment with its new Innofill Glass Micro DPG bottle filler.

Speaking to BeverageDaily.com at Pack Expo in Chicago yesterday, Nielsen, who is mechanical engineering manager at KHS USA, explained that the machine had also been designed to fill mixed beer beverages and soft drinks.

“What we’ve seen in the past couple of years is really seen an explosion in the craft brewing industry, taking over the market share from some of the big players,” he said.

“In the past KHS has only really attacked larger customers. We’ve had machines that handle 1000, 1200 bottles per minute. In the canned industry…up to 2200 per minute.

Nielsen added:“Everything from this machine is proven in large scale equipment in operation for many years. We’ve just sized it down into a very small package that will run anything from 120 bottles per minute up to around 450 bottles per minute.”
