Scottish firm launches beer with Scotch like alcohol content

A Scottish brewery has launched a 32 per cent alcohol beer called Tactical Nuclear Penguin, which is being described as the strongest beer in the world.

BrewDog is the company behind the new beer. The Scottish firm has already courted controversy with its 18.2 per cent Tokyo beer, and is now upping the alcohol content to create a beer to be drunk in “spirit sized measures”.

A warning on the label states: “This is an extremely strong beer; it should be enjoyed in small servings and with an air of aristocratic nonchalance. In exactly the same manner that you would enjoy a fine whisky, a Frank Zappa album or a visit from a friendly yet anxious ghost.”

Tactical Nuclear Penguin will join other unusually named beers in the BrewDog range, including, at the other end of the alcohol spectrum, a low-alcohol beer called Nanny State.
