API creates shimmery Liqueur packaging to target millennials

PSC is a US packaging provider applies the Micro Glitter to the packaging using a Bobst 126 BMA foil press, before overprinting it with the graphics and applying a UV gloss coating to the sheet.
The holofoil creates sparkling waves of light that emanate from a printed image of the Viniq Shimmery Liqueur bottle, which is meant to represent the swirling shimmer effect of the liqueur when it is poured into a glass.
David Turnbaugh, Estimator at PSC, said the selling point of the API Micro Glitter foil was the unique dot size and density, and how great it looked with the customer’s graphics.
“The graphics were designed to complement the impact of the foil, which has performed well both during manufacture and in the results delivered to the customer,” he said.
‘Second skin’
Viniq Shimmery Liqueur is a fusion of vodka, Moscato wine and natural fruit flavors, targeting millennials.
API said the box acts as a ‘second skin’ by representing the product’s qualities and targeting millennials and catching the consumer’s eye.
The drink was initially sold on the US West coast, but thanks to its success will be distributed nationwide.
“After the decision to use the Micro Glitter foil was made, we worked with API to forecast the demand and delivery needs,” added Turnbaugh.
“The entire project – from ordering to application – was a success. The API team has done everything to expedite our orders, and our working relationship has enabled us to adjust plans wherever necessary.”
API manufactures and distributes foils, laminates and holographics for some of the world’s leading brands.
