DSM and Isobionics have sealed an exclusive new global distribution partnership

DSM Nutritional Products has entered in to an exclusive worldwide partnership with Dutch firm Isobionics for the distribution of its valencene and nootkatone ingredients.

The global partnership will see the fermented orange and grapefruit ingredients produced by natural flavor and fragrance firm Isobionics exclusively distributed by DSM on a global basis.

Isobionics uses a proprietary fermentation process, similar to brewing beer, to produce the natural aroma compounds valencene (a constituent of orange) and nootkatone (from grapefruit). The ingredients have applications as in many beverages, essential oils, and confectionery – in addition to uses in personal care, fragrances and household cleaning products.

We are pleased to extend our portfolio with exciting new aroma ingredients such as Valencene and Nootkatone, produced through an innovative fermentation technology by Isobionics to bring stability into the market place,” said Arnold Gloor, senior director of aroma ingredients at DSM Nutritional Products.

Toine Janssen, CEO and founder of Isobionics added that the current supply chain of many natural compounds “is unstable and characterized by high volatility regarding availability, quality and pricing.”

With our proprietary fermentation technology, which is similar to brewing beer, we create the stability and reliability of supply that the market expects.”
