Nestle Waters buys up organic and natural tea company

Nestle Waters has agreed to buy Sweet Leaf Tea after investing $15.6m in the Texas-based iced tea company in 2009.

Sweat Leaf, which makes a range of natural and organic iced teas as well as other soft drinks, has grown fast in recent years and currently has a turnover of $53m.

 

Nestle Waters said that with access to the manufacturing and distribution network, the premium tea company and its Sweat Leaf and Tradewinds will be able to expand their reach further.

 

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval.
