Kirin says that it will enter into negotiations with its Philippines-based rival over obtaining a stake in its beer subsidiary as part of long-term plans to expand its operations in the Asia Oceania region.
The brewer says it hopes to conclude outline definitive agreements regarding the stake by February in order to capitalise on San Miguel’s dominance of the Filipino beer market. San Miguel currently holds about a 95 per cent share of the country’s beer sales, says the group.
